Outstanding Service by a Graduate Student| University of Alabama College of Arts and Sciences 2018-19
This award recognizes service by graduate students that includes “activities and outcomes related to enhancement of student life and the overall quality of life at UA, in the community, state, or region.” Awarded for role in Gradient, UA’s LGBTQ+ organization for graduate, professional, and non-traditional students. As an executive board member of Gradient, I have facilitated a peer mentorship program for students applying to graduate school, student health panel, assisted in establishing a trans and gender identity support group, and contributed toward a more robust and supportive environment for students on campus. Additionally, this award recognizes the contributions of a group of students, including myself, who worked to prevent a white supremacist speaker from coming to campus.

Organize events and services related to the wellbeing of LGBTQ+ graduate students at the University of Alabama.

Director | GRADient Peer Mentor Program
September 2017 –
Facilitate a peer-mentorship program for undergraduate and graduate students applying to graduate programs. Students receive support during the application process, and advice for graduate school success.

Organizer | GRADient Local Health Panel
September 2017 – March 2018
Organized student health panel, in conjunction with the University of Alabama Student Health Center, in order to improve services they provide to queer students. Facilitated a networking session for local health organizations including: the 1917 clinic, Five Horizons, Magic City Wellness Center, UA Counseling Center, UA Health Center, UA Women and Gender Resource Center, West Alabama Aids Outreach – Birmingham.
